EXERCISE IS MEDICINE – Improving health and wellness in older adults via exercise

“Exercise is Medicine” is a global movement that promotes exercise as a fundamental component of health care, integrating physical activity into chronic disease prevention and management programs. Extensive research highlights the profound benefits of exercise for seniors, including improvements in physical and mental health, cognition, falls prevention, overall well-being, and even longevity.

To fully harness the power of exercise as medicine, the right prescription is essential—focusing on frequency, intensity, time, and type (the FITT principle). With a properly tailored exercise plan, individuals can achieve significant health outcomes.

In our first webinar of 2022, we are excited to welcome two expert speakers who are actively implementing the Exercise is Medicine approach in their clinics:

Brad McGregor – Exercise and Allied Health Services for Over 50s Well-being

Brad McGregor is an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) and the Clinical and Operations Manager at UQ Health Care, a multidisciplinary service dedicated to promoting longevity and well-being for people over 50. Brad is passionate about enhancing allied health service efficiency and offers consultancy and mentoring services to allied health and exercise practitioners.

Sam Waley – Bridging the Gap Between Exercise and Medicine
